| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix missing bounds check on DEFAULT table in verify_dfa() The verify_dfa() function only checks DEFAULT_TABLE bounds when the state is not differentially encoded. When the verification loop traverses the differential encoding chain, it reads k = DEFAULT_TABLE[j] and uses k as an array index without validation. A malformed DFA with DEFAULT_TABLE[j] >= state_count, therefore, causes both out-of-bounds reads and writes. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: thp: deny THP for files on anonymous inodes file_thp_enabled() incorrectly allows THP for files on anonymous inodes (e.g. guest_memfd and secretmem). These files are created via alloc_file_pseudo(), which does not call get_write_access() and leaves inode->i_writecount at 0. Combined with S_ISREG(inode->i_mode) being true, they appear as read-only regular files when CONFIG_READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS is enabled, making them eligible for THP collapse. Anonymous inodes can never pass the inode_is_open_for_write() check since their i_writecount is never incremented through the normal VFS open path. The right thing to do is to exclude them from THP eligibility altogether, since CONFIG_READ_ONLY_THP_FOR_FS was designed for real filesystem files (e.g. shared libraries), not for pseudo-filesystem inodes. For guest_memfd, this allows khugepaged and MADV_COLLAPSE to create large folios in the page cache via the collapse path, but the guest_memfd fault handler does not support large folios. This triggers WARN_ON_ONCE(folio_test_large(folio)) in kvm_gmem_fault_user_mapping(). For secretmem, collapse_file() tries to copy page contents through the direct map, but secretmem pages are removed from the direct map. This can result in a kernel crash: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffff88810284d000 RIP: 0010:memcpy_orig+0x16/0x130 Call Trace: collapse_file hpage_collapse_scan_file madvise_collapse Secretmem is not affected by the crash on upstream as the memory failure recovery handles the failed copy gracefully, but it still triggers confusing false memory failure reports: Memory failure: 0x106d96f: recovery action for clean unevictable LRU page: Recovered Check IS_ANON_FILE(inode) in file_thp_enabled() to deny THP for all anonymous inode files. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix WARN_ON in tracing_buffers_mmap_close When a process forks, the child process copies the parent's VMAs but the user_mapped reference count is not incremented. As a result, when both the parent and child processes exit, tracing_buffers_mmap_close() is called twice. On the second call, user_mapped is already 0, causing the function to return -ENODEV and triggering a WARN_ON. Normally, this isn't an issue as the memory is mapped with VM_DONTCOPY set. But this is only a hint, and the application can call madvise(MADVISE_DOFORK) which resets the VM_DONTCOPY flag. When the application does that, it can trigger this issue on fork. Fix it by incrementing the user_mapped reference count without re-mapping the pages in the VMA's open callback. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix differential encoding verification Differential encoding allows loops to be created if it is abused. To prevent this the unpack should verify that a diff-encode chain terminates. Unfortunately the differential encode verification had two bugs. 1. it conflated states that had gone through check and already been marked, with states that were currently being checked and marked. This means that loops in the current chain being verified are treated as a chain that has already been verified. 2. the order bailout on already checked states compared current chain check iterators j,k instead of using the outer loop iterator i. Meaning a step backwards in states in the current chain verification was being mistaken for moving to an already verified state. Move to a double mark scheme where already verified states get a different mark, than the current chain being kept. This enables us to also drop the backwards verification check that was the cause of the second error as any already verified state is already marked. | ||||
| CVE-2026-23410 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-24 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix race on rawdata dereference There is a race condition that leads to a use-after-free situation: because the rawdata inodes are not refcounted, an attacker can start open()ing one of the rawdata files, and at the same time remove the last reference to this rawdata (by removing the corresponding profile, for example), which frees its struct aa_loaddata; as a result, when seq_rawdata_open() is reached, i_private is a dangling pointer and freed memory is accessed. The rawdata inodes weren't refcounted to avoid a circular refcount and were supposed to be held by the profile rawdata reference. However during profile removal there is a window where the vfs and profile destruction race, resulting in the use after free. Fix this by moving to a double refcount scheme. Where the profile refcount on rawdata is used to break the circular dependency. Allowing for freeing of the rawdata once all inode references to the rawdata are put. | ||||
| CVE-2026-23411 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-24 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix race between freeing data and fs accessing it AppArmor was putting the reference to i_private data on its end after removing the original entry from the file system. However the inode can aand does live beyond that point and it is possible that some of the fs call back functions will be invoked after the reference has been put, which results in a race between freeing the data and accessing it through the fs. While the rawdata/loaddata is the most likely candidate to fail the race, as it has the fewest references. If properly crafted it might be possible to trigger a race for the other types stored in i_private. Fix this by moving the put of i_private referenced data to the correct place which is during inode eviction. | ||||
| CVE-2026-23416 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-24 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/mseal: update VMA end correctly on merge Previously we stored the end of the current VMA in curr_end, and then upon iterating to the next VMA updated curr_start to curr_end to advance to the next VMA. However, this doesn't take into account the fact that a VMA might be updated due to a merge by vma_modify_flags(), which can result in curr_end being stale and thus, upon setting curr_start to curr_end, ending up with an incorrect curr_start on the next iteration. Resolve the issue by setting curr_end to vma->vm_end unconditionally to ensure this value remains updated should this occur. While we're here, eliminate this entire class of bug by simply setting const curr_[start/end] to be clamped to the input range and VMAs, which also happens to simplify the logic. | ||||

| CVE-2026-23400 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-24 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rust_binder: call set_notification_done() without proc lock Consider the following sequence of events on a death listener: 1. The remote process dies and sends a BR_DEAD_BINDER message. 2. The local process invokes the BC_CLEAR_DEATH_NOTIFICATION command. 3. The local process then invokes the BC_DEAD_BINDER_DONE. Then, the kernel will reply to the BC_DEAD_BINDER_DONE command with a BR_CLEAR_DEATH_NOTIFICATION_DONE reply using push_work_if_looper(). However, this can result in a deadlock if the current thread is not a looper. This is because dead_binder_done() still holds the proc lock during set_notification_done(), which called push_work_if_looper(). Normally, push_work_if_looper() takes the thread lock, which is fine to take under the proc lock. But if the current thread is not a looper, then it falls back to delivering the reply to the process work queue, which involves taking the proc lock. Since the proc lock is already held, this is a deadlock. Fix this by releasing the proc lock during set_notification_done(). It was not intentional that it was held during that function to begin with. I don't think this ever happens in Android because BC_DEAD_BINDER_DONE is only invoked in response to BR_DEAD_BINDER messages, and the kernel always delivers BR_DEAD_BINDER to a looper. So there's no scenario where Android userspace will call BC_DEAD_BINDER_DONE on a non-looper thread. | ||||

| CVE-2026-23342 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-04-23 | 4.7 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix race in cpumap on PREEMPT_RT On PREEMPT_RT kernels, the per-CPU xdp_bulk_queue (bq) can be accessed concurrently by multiple preemptible tasks on the same CPU. The original code assumes bq_enqueue() and __cpu_map_flush() run atomically with respect to each other on the same CPU, relying on local_bh_disable() to prevent preemption. However, on PREEMPT_RT, local_bh_disable() only calls migrate_disable() (when PREEMPT_RT_NEEDS_BH_LOCK is not set) and does not disable preemption, which allows CFS scheduling to preempt a task during bq_flush_to_queue(), enabling another task on the same CPU to enter bq_enqueue() and operate on the same per-CPU bq concurrently. This leads to several races: 1. Double __list_del_clearprev(): after bq->count is reset in bq_flush_to_queue(), a preempting task can call bq_enqueue() -> bq_flush_to_queue() on the same bq when bq->count reaches CPU_MAP_BULK_SIZE. Both tasks then call __list_del_clearprev() on the same bq->flush_node, the second call dereferences the prev pointer that was already set to NULL by the first. 2. bq->count and bq->q[] races: concurrent bq_enqueue() can corrupt the packet queue while bq_flush_to_queue() is processing it. The race between task A (__cpu_map_flush -> bq_flush_to_queue) and task B (bq_enqueue -> bq_flush_to_queue) on the same CPU: Task A (xdp_do_flush) Task B (cpu_map_enqueue) ---------------------- ------------------------ bq_flush_to_queue(bq) spin_lock(&q->producer_lock) /* flush bq->q[] to ptr_ring */ bq->count = 0 spin_unlock(&q->producer_lock) bq_enqueue(rcpu, xdpf) <-- CFS preempts Task A --> bq->q[bq->count++] = xdpf /* ... more enqueues until full ... */ bq_flush_to_queue(bq) spin_lock(&q->producer_lock) /* flush to ptr_ring */ spin_unlock(&q->producer_lock) __list_del_clearprev(flush_node) /* sets flush_node.prev = NULL */ <-- Task A resumes --> __list_del_clearprev(flush_node) flush_node.prev->next = ... /* prev is NULL -> kernel oops */ Fix this by adding a local_lock_t to xdp_bulk_queue and acquiring it in bq_enqueue() and __cpu_map_flush(). These paths already run under local_bh_disable(), so use local_lock_nested_bh() which on non-RT is a pure annotation with no overhead, and on PREEMPT_RT provides a per-CPU sleeping lock that serializes access to the bq. To reproduce, insert an mdelay(100) between bq->count = 0 and __list_del_clearprev() in bq_flush_to_queue(), then run reproducer provided by syzkaller. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: udp: Unhash auto-bound connected sk from 4-tuple hash table when disconnected. Let's say we bind() an UDP socket to the wildcard address with a non-zero port, connect() it to an address, and disconnect it from the address. bind() sets SOCK_BINDPORT_LOCK on sk->sk_userlocks (but not SOCK_BINDADDR_LOCK), and connect() calls udp_lib_hash4() to put the socket into the 4-tuple hash table. Then, __udp_disconnect() calls sk->sk_prot->rehash(sk). It computes a new hash based on the wildcard address and moves the socket to a new slot in the 4-tuple hash table, leaving a garbage in the chain that no packet hits. Let's remove such a socket from 4-tuple hash table when disconnected. Note that udp_sk(sk)->udp_portaddr_hash needs to be udpated after udp_hash4_dec(hslot2) in udp_unhash4(). | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xsk: Fix fragment node deletion to prevent buffer leak After commit b692bf9a7543 ("xsk: Get rid of xdp_buff_xsk::xskb_list_node"), the list_node field is reused for both the xskb pool list and the buffer free list, this causes a buffer leak as described below. xp_free() checks if a buffer is already on the free list using list_empty(&xskb->list_node). When list_del() is used to remove a node from the xskb pool list, it doesn't reinitialize the node pointers. This means list_empty() will return false even after the node has been removed, causing xp_free() to incorrectly skip adding the buffer to the free list. Fix this by using list_del_init() instead of list_del() in all fragment handling paths, this ensures the list node is reinitialized after removal, allowing the list_empty() to work correctly. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (macsmc) Fix regressions in Apple Silicon SMC hwmon driver The recently added macsmc-hwmon driver contained several critical bugs in its sensor population logic and float conversion routines. Specifically: - The voltage sensor population loop used the wrong prefix ("volt-" instead of "voltage-") and incorrectly assigned sensors to the temperature sensor array (hwmon->temp.sensors) instead of the voltage sensor array (hwmon->volt.sensors). This would lead to out-of-bounds memory access or data corruption when both temperature and voltage sensors were present. - The float conversion in macsmc_hwmon_write_f32() had flawed exponent logic for values >= 2^24 and lacked masking for the mantissa, which could lead to incorrect values being written to the SMC. Fix these issues to ensure correct sensor registration and reliable manual fan control. Confirm that the reported overflow in FIELD_PREP is fixed by declaring macsmc_hwmon_write_f32() as __always_inline for a compile test. | ||||
