CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: mcast: extend RCU protection in igmp6_send()
igmp6_send() can be called without RTNL or RCU being held.
Extend RCU protection so that we can safely fetch the net pointer
and avoid a potential UAF.
Note that we no longer can use sock_alloc_send_skb() because
ipv6.igmp_sk uses GFP_KERNEL allocations which can sleep.
Instead use alloc_skb() and charge the net->ipv6.igmp_sk
socket under RCU protection. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Defer work in bpf_timer_cancel_and_free
Currently, the same case as previous patch (two timer callbacks trying
to cancel each other) can be invoked through bpf_map_update_elem as
well, or more precisely, freeing map elements containing timers. Since
this relies on hrtimer_cancel as well, it is prone to the same deadlock
situation as the previous patch.
It would be sufficient to use hrtimer_try_to_cancel to fix this problem,
as the timer cannot be enqueued after async_cancel_and_free. Once
async_cancel_and_free has been done, the timer must be reinitialized
before it can be armed again. The callback running in parallel trying to
arm the timer will fail, and freeing bpf_hrtimer without waiting is
sufficient (given kfree_rcu), and bpf_timer_cb will return
HRTIMER_NORESTART, preventing the timer from being rearmed again.
However, there exists a UAF scenario where the callback arms the timer
before entering this function, such that if cancellation fails (due to
timer callback invoking this routine, or the target timer callback
running concurrently). In such a case, if the timer expiration is
significantly far in the future, the RCU grace period expiration
happening before it will free the bpf_hrtimer state and along with it
the struct hrtimer, that is enqueued.
Hence, it is clear cancellation needs to occur after
async_cancel_and_free, and yet it cannot be done inline due to deadlock
issues. We thus modify bpf_timer_cancel_and_free to defer work to the
global workqueue, adding a work_struct alongside rcu_head (both used at
_different_ points of time, so can share space).
Update existing code comments to reflect the new state of affairs. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sh: push-switch: Reorder cleanup operations to avoid use-after-free bug
The original code puts flush_work() before timer_shutdown_sync()
in switch_drv_remove(). Although we use flush_work() to stop
the worker, it could be rescheduled in switch_timer(). As a result,
a use-after-free bug can occur. The details are shown below:
(cpu 0) | (cpu 1)
switch_drv_remove() |
flush_work() |
... | switch_timer // timer
| schedule_work(&psw->work)
timer_shutdown_sync() |
... | switch_work_handler // worker
kfree(psw) // free |
| psw->state = 0 // use
This patch puts timer_shutdown_sync() before flush_work() to
mitigate the bugs. As a result, the worker and timer will be
stopped safely before the deallocate operations. |
| A remote, unauthenticated TLS client can make a server crash or call
through a freed pointer if its sni_callback assigns a different context to
SSLSocket.context (the documented way to select a certificate per server
name) and nothing else keeps the original ssl.SSLContext alive. Typical
cases are servers that create an SSLContext per connection or replace it
while connections are open; servers that wrap their listening socket with
it are not affected.
Mitigation: keep a reference to every SSLContext that sets sni_callback for
the lifetime of the server. TLS clients are not affected. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel/rocket: fix UAF via dangling GEM handle in create_bo
rocket_ioctl_create_bo() inserts a GEM handle into the file's IDR via
drm_gem_handle_create() early on, then performs several operations that
can fail (sgt allocation, drm_mm insert, iommu_map). If any fail after
the handle is live, the error path calls drm_gem_shmem_object_free()
which kfree's the object without removing the handle from the IDR.
This leaves a dangling handle pointing to freed slab memory. Any
subsequent ioctl using that handle (PREP_BO, FINI_BO, SUBMIT) calls
drm_gem_object_lookup() and dereferences freed memory (UAF).
Fix by moving drm_gem_handle_create() to after all fallible operations
succeed, matching the pattern used by panfrost, lima, and etnaviv.
Also fix drm_mm_insert_node_generic() whose return value was silently
overwritten by iommu_map_sgtable() on the next line. Add the missing
error check.
[tomeu: Move handle creation to the very end] |
| In all builds that make use of (D)TLS, including default builds, there is a series of conditional states during the TLS shutdown which could lead to a heap-use-after free. If an application ended up getting a partial wolfSSL_read() which is sometimes caused by a small user buffer passed in, then called wolfSSL_shutdown for a bidirectional close and attempted to wolfSSL_read() again while the peer continues trying to send data during the shutdown it would lead to a state where a potential heap-use-after free happened. |

| PyPy before versions 3.11.16 and 3.12.14 contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the pyexpat module's ExternalEntityParserCreate function that allows attackers to corrupt memory by supplying a crafted XML document to applications that create external-entity sub-parsers without retaining a reference to the parent parser. The child parser retains a raw C back-pointer to the parent parser struct while PyPy's tracing garbage collector can free the parent's C struct, causing bundled libexpat to dereference the freed pointer on every parsed token, producing memory corruption. |
| U-Boot before 2026.10-rc5 contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the httpc_recv_cb() function within the lwIP wget implementation. When HTTP data storage fails, the callback frees the connection PCB but returns ERR_BUF instead of ERR_ABRT, causing the TCP input path to access released memory and crash the bootloader. |

| Flash Player versions 31.0.0.153 and earlier, and 31.0.0.108 and earlier have a use after free vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution. |
| In proxygen from v2026.04.06.00 until v2026.09.28.00, QuicWtSession::closeSession accesses its member fields after calling the base QuicWtSessionBase::closeSession method. The base method notifies the session handler, which may release the last reference to the session and destroy it. |
| The Apache Traffic Server intercept plugin has a use-after-free.
This issue affects Apache Traffic Server: from 8.0.0 through 8.1.11, from 9.0.0 through 9.2.14, from 10.0.0 through 10.1.3.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.2.15 or 10.1.4, which fix the issue. |
| Apache Traffic Server has use-after-free and time-of-check/time-of-use errors in remap configuration handling.
This issue affects Apache Traffic Server: from 8.0.0 through 8.1.11, from 9.0.0 through 9.2.14, from 10.0.0 through 10.1.3.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.2.15 or 10.1.4, which fix the issue. |
| iperf3 3.21 (esnet/iperf) contains a remote, unauthenticated heap use-after-free: the server's per-test watchdog server_timer_proc() frees streams without cancelling/joining their worker threads, so a blocked worker dereferences a freed iperf_stream; fixed in 3.22. |
| NetBSD contains a use-after-free and double-free vulnerability in msg_recv_copyin() within the COMPAT_NETBSD32 compatibility layer due to a missing return statement before the cleanup label on the success path. Any local user able to execute a 32-bit binary on a 64-bit NetBSD system can trigger a kernel panic or memory corruption by calling recvmsg() with msg_iovlen between 9 and IOV_MAX, causing the kernel to access a freed iovec buffer and subsequently free the same allocation a second time. |
