| libpcap BPF interpreter treats the offset in the 'ja L' BPF instruction as a signed integer to implement looping via backward jumps, but it does not limit the number of loop iterations. A crafted filter program or the 'protochain' primitive used on a crafted network packet can cause the interpreter to loop infinitely. |
| Multiple Cisco products are affected by a vulnerability in the Snort 3 Detection Engine that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the detection engine to unexpectedly restart, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
The vulnerability is due to a flaw in logic handling when General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Tunneling Protocol (GTP) extension headers are processed within the codec. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted, fragmented UDP datagram that contains these headers to the Snort 3 Detection Engine of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the detection engine to enter an infinite loop, resulting in a DoS condition. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: atl1c: fix soft lockup on out-of-range tpd_cons read
The hardware can report an out-of-range tpd_cons (seen as 0xffff)
while the PCIe link/MAC is resetting. An out-of-range value can
never be reached and the loop below would spin forever. To avoid
a soft lockup treat it as "nothing new to clean" instead.
Reproduced on two machines, same NIC (Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 v2.0,
4-port), triggered by rebooting a Mikrotik CCR2004 PCIe card that
the ports are directly linked to:
- Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS, kernel 7.0.0-31-generic. The link-flap
precursor, before the lockup was captured with a full trace
elsewhere:
atl1c 0000:05:00.0 enp5s0f0: NETDEV WATCHDOG: CPU: 4: transmit queue 2 timed out 489984 ms
atl1c 0000:05:00.0: MAC state machine can't be idle since disabled for 10ms second
atl1c 0000:05:00.0: atl1c: enp5s0f0 NIC Link is Up<65535 Mbps Full Duplex>
65535 (0xffff) here is the same value tpd_cons reads back once the
loop below gets stuck.
- Proxmox VE, kernel 7.0.14-11-pve. Same NIC/trigger, this time
caught by the soft lockup watchdog with a full stack trace:
watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#12 stuck for 354s! [napi/eth%d-0:329]

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: ufs: core: Keep internal commands dispatchable during error handling
Commit 08b12cda6c44 ("scsi: ufs: core: Switch to scsi_get_internal_cmd()")
switched UFS internal commands to allocate requests on
hba->host->pseudo_sdev->request_queue, which shares the host tagset with
regular LUNs.
During error recovery, ufshcd_err_handling_prepare() calls
blk_mq_quiesce_tagset(&hba->host->tag_set), marking all queues in the
tagset as quiesced, including pseudo_sdev->request_queue. When
ufshcd_verify_dev_init() subsequently issues internal commands (e.g. NOP
OUT UPIU) via blk_execute_rq(), blk_mq_run_hw_queue() skips running the
quiesced queue, resulting in an unrecoverable circular wait deadlock.
Keep quiescing the tagset and unquiesce the pseudo SCSI device on top of
that, so internal commands stay dispatchable while the logical units remain
quiesced. Re-quiesce the pseudo device before unquiescing the tagset so
that quiesce_depth stays balanced.
Clock scaling and ufshcd_pause_command_processing() are unaffected: they
keep quiescing the whole tagset, internal commands included. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: atl1e: fix soft lockup on out-of-range hw_next_to_clean read
Same issue as atl1c (see the first commit in this series, "net:
atl1c: fix soft lockup on out-of-range tpd_cons read"): the hardware
can report an out-of-range hw_next_to_clean (seen as 0xffff) while
the PCIe link/MAC is resetting. An out-of-range value can never be
reached and the loop below would spin forever. Treat it as "nothing
new to clean" instead. |
| OCO-Server is a self-hosted endpoint management application for computer inventory, software deployment, and mobile device management. Prior to 1.2.1, `Html::commandButton()` in `lib/Html.class.php` embeds an action URL containing a stored computer hostname into a JavaScript string in an inline `onclick` handler, using `htmlspecialchars(ENT_QUOTES)` only for HTML escaping. Browsers decode the HTML entities before interpreting the handler as JavaScript, allowing a crafted hostname to escape the string and execute script in an administrator's authenticated session when an affected command button is activated. `frontend/views/computer-details.php` passes `$computer->hostname` to this helper using `Computer::DEFAULT_COMPUTER_COMMANDS` in `lib/Models/Computer.class.php`, whose VNC, RDP, SSH, and Ping entries use `new_tab=false` and the vulnerable `window.location` branch. A remote attacker who possesses the shared `agent-registration-key` can use the `oco.agent.hello` handler in `frontend/api-agent.php` to store an unchecked hostname when `agent-self-registration-enabled` is enabled; self-registration is disabled by default. The vulnerable default command buttons require no custom command configuration. The injected script can abuse the administrator's privileges, including permission to deploy software jobs to managed computers. This issue is fixed in version 1.2.1. |
| A flaw was found in libkcapi. A local attacker can influence an application that uses the Asynchronous Input/Output (AIO) interface. By reusing an AIO-enabled handle after a prior completion error, the _kcapi_aio_read_all() function can enter a non-terminating wait loop. This can lead to a persistent denial of service, making the affected application or thread unresponsive. |
| Vulnerability in the Oracle Java SE, Oracle JavaFX, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition product of Oracle Java SE (component: ImageIO). Supported versions that are affected are Oracle Java SE: 8u503, 8u503-perf, 11.0.32.1, 17.0.20.1, 21.0.12.1, 25.0.4.1, 27; Oracle JavaFX: 21.0.12, 25.0.4, 27; Oracle GraalVM for JDK: 17.0.20.1 and 21.0.12.1; Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition: 21.3.19.1.1. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Oracle Java SE, Oracle JavaFX, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle Java SE, Oracle JavaFX, Oracle GraalVM for JDK, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition. Note: This vulnerability can be exploited by using APIs in the specified Component, e.g., through a web service which supplies data to the APIs. This vulnerability also applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.3 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L). |
| HAProxy 3 before 3.4.6 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service (persistent worker-thread CPU exhaustion) via an HTTP/1.1 chunked request. Although the H1 multiplexer drains the request before closing the stream, the parser repeatedly re-processes the same bytes without making progress. The affected thread stays busy at 100% CPU after timeouts expire and after the client disconnects, and repeated requests can consume all worker threads until the process is restarted. |
| HAProxy 3.2 before 3.4.6 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service (worker-thread CPU exhaustion) via a truncated HTTP/2 PING frame. h2c_handle_ping in src/mux_h2.c does not check for a short read, unlike the other H2 frame handlers. Because the incomplete frame cannot be processed, its data is never consumed, and the H2 multiplexer tasklet is repeatedly woken by that pending data without making progress. The CPU spins until timeout http-request closes the connection, and an attacker opening many such connections can sustain high CPU usage. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57, a missing end-of-file check while reading bzip2-compressed image data can cause an infinite loop and exhaust processing resources. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57, a crafted PSD file can trigger an integer-conversion error in the PSD decoder on 32-bit builds, causing an infinite loop and denial of service. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57, a crafted XMP profile embedded in an image can cause the profile parser to enter an infinite loop, preventing image processing from completing. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sctp: fix soft lockup from unpadded ASCONF-ACK parameter iteration
sctp_verify_asconf() walks ASCONF-ACK parameters with
sctp_walk_params(), which advances by SCTP_PAD4(length), while the
consumer sctp_get_asconf_response() iterates the same parameters
advancing by the raw length, without padding. A single odd-length
parameter desynchronises the two walks and makes the consumer
interpret attacker-controlled bytes at a misaligned offset.
When those bytes yield a length of zero, the while loop over
asconf_ack_len makes no progress, spinning forever in softirq
context, and the watchdog reports a soft lockup. All reads stay
within the received skb, so the lockup is a pure remote denial of
service. A remote peer can trigger it with a crafted ASCONF-ACK on
an ADD-IP enabled association with an outstanding ASCONF (RFC 5061
section 4.1.2 requires the chunk to be authenticated, but the
predefined empty key id 0 allows the peer to compute the same
association HMAC from publicly exchanged parameters, so the gate
does not help).
The SCTP_PARAM_ERR_CAUSE case of sctp_verify_asconf() also performs
no length check, letting a parameter without a complete error
header reach the consumer, which reads errhdr.cause past the end of
the parameter, an out-of-bounds read.
Reject SCTP_PARAM_ERR_CAUSE parameters shorter than
sizeof(struct sctp_addip_param) + sizeof(struct sctp_errhdr) at the
verifier, and advance the consumer iterator with the same padding
rule as the verifier to keep the two walks in lockstep. The verifier
change guarantees a complete error header in every ERR_CAUSE
parameter the consumer can see, so the consumer's asconf_ack_len
check is dropped and it returns err_param->cause directly. The
consumer padding fix is still required because odd lengths remain
valid for SCTP_PARAM_ERR_CAUSE per RFC 5061.
The issue was found by ZeroHive, a vulnerability hunting agent at
Tencent Yunding Lab. |
| In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions prior to 0.63.0, the JITServer component is vulnerable to a pre-authentication remote denial of service. When processing the initial 4-byte length field of an incoming TCP connection, an integer overflow in `MessageBuffer::computeRequiredCapacity()` causes the receiving compilation worker thread to enter an infinite loop consuming ~100% CPU. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by opening a small number of crafted TCP connections to exhaust the entire worker thread pool, silently halting compilation services for all connected client JVMs. |
