CVE-2026-110974 1 Vaadin 1 Android-json 2026-10-22 N/A
The org.json parser in com.vaadin.external.google:android-json recurses once per nesting level with no depth limit: JSONTokener.nextValue() calls readArray() and readObject(), which call nextValue() again. A deeply nested JSON document, around 20 KB of nested arrays with the default thread stack, makes the JSONArray and JSONObject constructors throw a raw java.lang.StackOverflowError instead of a JSONException. Any application that parses untrusted JSON with this library can be made to fail the thread doing the parsing. The artifact is a 2013 repackage of third-party org.json classes, published once and never maintained, and no fixed version will be released. Users of the affected version should apply the following mitigation. Product version com.vaadin.external.google:android-json 0.0.20131108.vaadin1 Mitigation No fixed version will be released. Replace the artifact with an org.json implementation that limits the nesting depth, such as org.json:json 20231013 or later. CVE-2026-92822 1 Redhat 3 Enterprise Linux, Hummingbird, Openshift 2026-10-21 6.2 Medium
A flaw was found in libmodulemd. When parsing module metadata, the xmd field is converted into nested GVariant values through recursive YAML mapping and sequence helpers without a recursion-depth or node-count limit. An attacker who can supply crafted modulemd YAML with deeply nested xmd content can cause stack exhaustion or excessive resource consumption, resulting in a denial of service.
CVE-2026-106572 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-21 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55, a missing recursion-depth check in the CALS decoder allows a crafted CALS image to exhaust the call stack and terminate the process. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55.
CVE-2020-37288 1 Vyperlang 1 Vyper 2026-10-21 3.7 Low
Vyper from 0.1.0b10 before 0.2.3 generates incorrect code for a return statement inside a for loop in an internal function called two or more internal calls deep, producing an invalid jump destination (stack underflow). Affected contracts revert such calls unnecessarily, which in limited circumstances could enable denial of service against public contracts.
CVE-2026-107208 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-21 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55, a crafted XMP profile can reach a recursion limit that is handled as a fatal condition instead of an ordinary exception, terminating the image-processing process. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55.
CVE-2026-72438 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid10: fix writes_pending and barrier reference leaks on discard failures raid10_make_request() acquires a writes_pending reference with md_write_start() before calling raid10_handle_discard(). Several failure paths in raid10_handle_discard() complete the bio and return without releasing the corresponding reference, causing md_write_end() to be skipped. Call md_write_end() before returning from these failure paths to keep writes_pending accounting balanced. Additionally, discard split allocation failures can occur after wait_barrier() succeeds. Those paths return without calling allow_barrier(), leaking the associated barrier reference. Release the barrier before returning from those paths.
CVE-2026-93181 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel/uncore: Fix uncore_box ref/unref ordering In uncore_event_cpu_online(), uncore_box_ref() was called before uncore_change_context(). uncore_box_ref() gates on box->cpu >= 0, but box->cpu is still -1 at that point because uncore_change_context() has not run yet. As a result, the box is never initialized on the first CPU to come online in a die, leaving it permanently uninitialized in the single-CPU-per-die case. Thus, box->refcnt is one count below the true value, and in the CPU offline path, the box will be torn down on the second-to-last CPU. In uncore_event_cpu_offline(), uncore_box_unref() was called after uncore_change_context(), so box->cpu is already -1 when the collector CPU goes offline, which prevents it from tearing down the box. Fix by swapping the call order in both paths so that uncore_box_{ref,unref}() runs at the point where box->cpu reflects the correct context. Move allocate_boxes() out of uncore_box_ref() to enable this reordering.
CVE-2026-90179 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: fix deadlock in complain-mode change_hat The use of change_hat when in complain mode can cause a deadlock when the hat doesn't exist and a new learning profile is created for the missing profile. This is because change_hat() has taken the lock to search the hat list and creating the new learning profile needs to take the lock to add it to the list. From the bug report: Originally found in 7.0.0 in LTS ubuntu 26.04 with pam_apparmor + su in complain mode set to change hats. Then verified in newest available vanilla kernel I've compiled to see if still present: 7.2-rc7 vanilla -> affected checked also some other kernels: 6.18.44 vanilla -> affected 6.12.95 with debian patches -> unaffected On systems without bug (for example 6.12.95 debian) it just prints: aa_change_hat rc=0 On systems with bug, the executable always hangs, prints nothing and becomes unkillable. (And once stuck this way, it will cause any further hat changes to also cause the changing process to get stuck) Then in syslog you can find hint about cause: kernel: INFO: task hat:3409 blocked for more than 483 seconds. kernel: Not tainted 7.2.0-rc7 #1 kernel: "echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message. kernel: task:hat state:D stack:0 pid:3409 tgid:3409 ppid:2605 task_flags:0x400000 flags:0x00080800 kernel: Call Trace: kernel: <TASK> kernel: __schedule+0x48f/0xfe0 kernel: schedule+0x27/0xa0 kernel: schedule_preempt_disabled+0x15/0x30 kernel: __mutex_lock.constprop.0+0x569/0xa10 kernel: aa_new_learning_profile+0x15f/0x210 kernel: build_change_hat+0x19f/0x3b0 kernel: change_hat.isra.0+0x5dd/0xd60 kernel: aa_change_hat+0x2f3/0x710 kernel: aa_setprocattr_changehat+0x121/0x1f0 kernel: do_setattr+0x28c/0x340 kernel: apparmor_setselfattr+0x20/0x50 kernel: security_setselfattr+0xf6/0x110 kernel: __x64_sys_lsm_set_self_attr+0x53/0x90 kernel: do_syscall_64+0xdd/0x5e0 kernel: ? __mod_memcg_lruvec_state+0xfd/0x260 kernel: ? lruvec_stat_mod_folio+0x8d/0xd0 kernel: ? __folio_mod_stat+0x2d/0x90 kernel: ? map_anon_folio_pte_nopf+0xd1/0x1f0 kernel: ? do_anonymous_page+0x184/0xa10 kernel: ? __handle_mm_fault+0x805/0x870 kernel: ? count_memcg_events+0xef/0x230 kernel: ? handle_mm_fault+0x1f0/0x2f0 kernel: ? do_user_addr_fault+0x2bb/0x7b0 kernel: ? do_syscall_64+0x94/0x5e0 kernel: ? exc_page_fault+0x75/0x160 kernel: entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x76/0x7e kernel: RIP: 0033:0x7f815e134c8d kernel: RSP: 002b:00007fff6df94ea8 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 00000000000001cc kernel: RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 0000556d8c81d040 RCX: 00007f815e134c8d kernel: RDX: 0000000000000046 RSI: 0000556d8c81d040 RDI: 0000000000000064 kernel: RBP: 00007fff6df94ef0 R08: 00007f815e212ac8 R09: 000000000000000c kernel: R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 0000556d8c81d010 kernel: R13: 0000000000000026 R14: 0000000000000046 R15: 0000000000000064 kernel: </TASK> kernel: INFO: task hat:3409 is blocked on a mutex likely owned by task hat:3409. CVE-2026-89934 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: light: ltrf216a: fix runtime PM reference leak in error path ltrf216a_get_lux() acquires a runtime PM reference by calling ltrf216a_set_power_state(data, true). However, if ltrf216a_read_data() fails, the function returns immediately without dropping the reference. This leaves the runtime PM usage count unbalanced, preventing the device from autosuspending after a failed read. Fix this by releasing the runtime PM reference before returning from the error path.

CVE-2026-43185 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix signededness bug in smb_direct_prepare_negotiation() smb_direct_prepare_negotiation() casts an unsigned __u32 value from sp->max_recv_size and req->preferred_send_size to a signed int before computing min_t(int, ...). A maliciously provided preferred_send_size of 0x80000000 will return as smaller than max_recv_size, and then be used to set the maximum allowed alowed receive size for the next message. By sending a second message with a large value (>1420 bytes) the attacker can then achieve a heap buffer overflow. This fix replaces min_t(int, ...) with min_t(u32)
CVE-2026-23276 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: add xmit recursion limit to tunnel xmit functions Tunnel xmit functions (iptunnel_xmit, ip6tunnel_xmit) lack their own recursion limit. When a bond device in broadcast mode has GRE tap interfaces as slaves, and those GRE tunnels route back through the bond, multicast/broadcast traffic triggers infinite recursion between bond_xmit_broadcast() and ip_tunnel_xmit()/ip6_tnl_xmit(), causing kernel stack overflow. The existing XMIT_RECURSION_LIMIT (8) in the no-qdisc path is not sufficient because tunnel recursion involves route lookups and full IP output, consuming much more stack per level. Use a lower limit of 4 (IP_TUNNEL_RECURSION_LIMIT) to prevent overflow. Add recursion detection using dev_xmit_recursion helpers directly in iptunnel_xmit() and ip6tunnel_xmit() to cover all IPv4/IPv6 tunnel paths including UDP encapsulated tunnels (VXLAN, Geneve, etc.). Move dev_xmit_recursion helpers from net/core/dev.h to public header include/linux/netdevice.h so they can be used by tunnel code. CVE-2024-53090 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Fix lock recursion afs_wake_up_async_call() can incur lock recursion. The problem is that it is called from AF_RXRPC whilst holding the ->notify_lock, but it tries to take a ref on the afs_call struct in order to pass it to a work queue - but if the afs_call is already queued, we then have an extraneous ref that must be put... calling afs_put_call() may call back down into AF_RXRPC through rxrpc_kernel_shutdown_call(), however, which might try taking the ->notify_lock again. This case isn't very common, however, so defer it to a workqueue. The oops looks something like: BUG: spinlock recursion on CPU#0, krxrpcio/7001/1646 lock: 0xffff888141399b30, .magic: dead4ead, .owner: krxrpcio/7001/1646, .owner_cpu: 0 CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 1646 Comm: krxrpcio/7001 Not tainted 6.12.0-rc2-build3+ #4351 Hardware name: ASUS All Series/H97-PLUS, BIOS 2306 10/09/2014 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x47/0x70 do_raw_spin_lock+0x3c/0x90 rxrpc_kernel_shutdown_call+0x83/0xb0 afs_put_call+0xd7/0x180 rxrpc_notify_socket+0xa0/0x190 rxrpc_input_split_jumbo+0x198/0x1d0 rxrpc_input_data+0x14b/0x1e0 ? rxrpc_input_call_packet+0xc2/0x1f0 rxrpc_input_call_event+0xad/0x6b0 rxrpc_input_packet_on_conn+0x1e1/0x210 rxrpc_input_packet+0x3f2/0x4d0 rxrpc_io_thread+0x243/0x410 ? __pfx_rxrpc_io_thread+0x10/0x10 kthread+0xcf/0xe0 ? __pfx_kthread+0x10/0x10 ret_from_fork+0x24/0x40 ? __pfx_kthread+0x10/0x10 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 </TASK>
CVE-2024-49940 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: prevent possible tunnel refcount underflow When a session is created, it sets a backpointer to its tunnel. When the session refcount drops to 0, l2tp_session_free drops the tunnel refcount if session->tunnel is non-NULL. However, session->tunnel is set in l2tp_session_create, before the tunnel refcount is incremented by l2tp_session_register, which leaves a small window where session->tunnel is non-NULL when the tunnel refcount hasn't been bumped. Moving the assignment to l2tp_session_register is trivial but l2tp_session_create calls l2tp_session_set_header_len which uses session->tunnel to get the tunnel's encap. Add an encap arg to l2tp_session_set_header_len to avoid using session->tunnel. If l2tpv3 sessions have colliding IDs, it is possible for l2tp_v3_session_get to race with l2tp_session_register and fetch a session which doesn't yet have session->tunnel set. Add a check for this case.
CVE-2026-92391 1 Curl 1 Curl 2026-10-20 3.7 Low
A deeply nested multipart MIME structure constructed via the public API causes a stack overflow in libcurl during normal cleanup operations. An excessive recursion depth within `curl_mime_free` leads to unbounded stack frame allocation during structure traversal, ultimately crashing the host process.
CVE-2026-113650 1 Apostrophecms 2 Apostrophecms, Sanitize-html 2026-10-20 5.3 Medium
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. In sanitize-html 2.18.0, when an <iframe> is not allowed and disallowedTagsMode is 'discard' (the defaults), its raw-text content is re-sanitized by a recursive call to sanitizeHtml(text, options). The recursion has no bound and starts each nested call with a fresh state. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.18.1.
CVE-2026-15957 2 Amazon, Aws 2 Aws-sdk-rust, Aws-sdk-rust 2026-10-20 7.5 High
Smithy-RS is a Rust code generation and runtime framework that generates HTTP clients and servers from Smithy interface definitions, powering the AWS SDK for Rust and custom service implementations. Uncontrolled recursion in the JSON, CBOR, and XML deserializer functions emitted by Amazon smithy-rs code generation could allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process abort via stack exhaustion) via a small request containing deeply nested data for a recursive model shape to a generated SDK or server. To mitigate this issue, users should upgrade to aws-sdk-rust release-2026-06-02 or later. Users building custom servers with smithy-rs codegen should regenerate from smithy-rs release-2026-06-01 or later.
CVE-2026-112895 1 Python-pillow 1 Pillow 2026-10-20 7.5 High
Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 5.1.0 until 13.0.0, Pillow can exhaust resources while parsing an existing PDF during an append operation. PdfParser follows page-tree child references without cycle or duplication tracking and follows previous-trailer chains with only an exact repeated-offset guard, so deep or cyclic page trees and long chains of unique trailer offsets can exhaust the Python stack. Repeated non-cyclic /Kids references can also cause super-linear CPU and memory use. An attacker can supply such a PDF to an application that calls Image.save with PDF append enabled. This can raise an uncaught RecursionError or consume excessive CPU and memory before output is written, causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0.
CVE-2026-53267 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-20 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_ct: bail out on template ct in get eval I noticed this issue while looking at a historic syzbot report [1]. A rule like the one below is enough to trigger the bug: table ip t { chain pre { type filter hook prerouting priority raw; ct zone set 1 ct original saddr 1.2.3.4 accept } } The first expression attaches a per-cpu template ct via nft_ct_set_zone_eval() (nf_ct_tmpl_alloc -> kzalloc, tuple is all zero, nf_ct_l3num(ct) == 0). The next expression then calls nft_ct_get_eval() on the same skb, treats the template as a real ct and hits the 16-byte memcpy path. With dreg at NFT_REG32_15 this overflows past struct nft_regs on the kernel stack; with smaller dreg values it silently clobbers adjacent registers. Reject template ct at the eval entry and in nft_ct_get_fast_eval(), mirroring the check nft_ct_set_eval() already has. Additionally, bound the address copy in NFT_CT_SRC / NFT_CT_DST by priv->len instead of by nf_ct_l3num(ct): nf_ct_get_tuple() zeroes the tuple before pkt_to_tuple() fills in only the protocol-relevant leading bytes, so the trailing bytes of tuple->{src,dst}.u3.all are well-defined zero. priv->len is validated at rule load, so the copy size is now bounded by the destination register rather than by an untrusted field on the conntrack. CVE-2026-110673 1 Rurban 1 Cpanel::json::xs 2026-10-19 N/A
Cpanel::JSON::XS versions before 4.80 for Perl allow stack exhaustion via nested tagged values under allow_tags in decode_tag. With allow_tags, "(" starts a tagged value. Its tag and value are decoded recursively, and each can start another tagged value. Unlike arrays and objects, this nesting is not counted against max_depth. A run of "(" bytes exhausts the C stack and triggers an uncatchable segmentation fault regardless of max_depth.
