CVE-2026-98942 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Build the cid tables privately and publish them with RCU The cid tables are visible to the cid kfuncs while being modified: the first enable publishes the global pointers before filling them, ops.init_cids() overrides rewrite them in place, and re-enables rebuild them in place. A racing TRACING or SYSCALL program can read unfilled entries, including uninitialized memory in the kmalloc'd tables, or torn topo updates. Tie the tables' lifetimes to the root sched instead: each root enable builds a fresh set privately and publishes the per-table __rcu globals once the layout is final, and root disable unpublishes and RCU-frees the set. A non-NULL global is now always a fully built table which stays valid for the reader's RCU read section, and lookups stay two loads. Kfuncs treat NULL as no-mapping, also after the scheduler exits instead of reporting the stale last mapping. The cid kfuncs are available whether the root scheduler is cid-form or cpu-form, the latter to allow gradual migration to cids. Every root therefore builds and publishes a default mapping. Every reader must either be gated on scheduler liveness or NULL-check inside an RCU read section. Fix the two kfuncs that were neither: scx_bpf_this_cid() read the table with no RCU or preemption protection and scx_bpf_task_cid() relied on KF_RCU, which doesn't put a sleepable program in an RCU read section. The hotplug callbacks are instead serialized by retiring the tables inside the cpus_read_lock() section that clears scx_root. v2: Document why every root builds the tables (desc + cid.c comment).
CVE-2026-98948 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_flower: Fix port range register leak in tmplt_create() mlxsw_sp_flower_tmplt_create() parses a flow_cls_offload template into a stack-local struct mlxsw_sp_acl_rule_info purely to compute rulei.values.elusage. Parsing can acquire port range registers via mlxsw_sp_flower_parse_ports_range(), but since this rulei never goes through mlxsw_sp_acl_rulei_destroy(), those registers were never released, including through chain template deletion. Factor out of mlxsw_sp_acl_rulei_destroy() the code to actually release the necessary resources and call from mlxsw_sp_flower_tmplt_create() to plug the leak. The issue was found during a review of Wentao Liang's patch referenced below.
CVE-2026-98951 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv: ptrace: Zero-initialize regset buffers before copyin user_regset_copyin() only copies `count` bytes, so a PTRACE_SETREGSET request with a short iov_len leaves the rest of the stack buffer uninitialized. In riscv_vr_set() that garbage is validated and copied into the target's vstate, and in riscv_cfi_set() it can be stored as the target's shadow stack pointer. Zero both buffers, as the get path already does.
CVE-2026-98871 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: ccp - Fix possible deadlock in SEV init failure path __sev_platform_init_handle_init_ex_path() calls rmp_mark_pages_firmware() with locked=false while the parent function of init_ex_path already acquired the sev_cmd_mutex. In the case of an RMPUPDATE failure for any page after the first, the cleanup path would invoke reclaim pages which would result in a deadlock in sev_do_cmd. Pass locked=true to honor the lock status of the parent function.
CVE-2026-98872 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: freevxfs: don't BUG() on unknown typed-extent type vxfs_bmap_typed() handles four typed-extent types and calls BUG() in its default case, so an on-disk typed extent with any other type value crashes the kernel. It is reachable from ioctl(FIBMAP) on a regular file: kernel BUG at fs/freevxfs/vxfs_bmap.c:230! RIP: vxfs_bmap_typed fs/freevxfs/vxfs_bmap.c:230 [inline] vxfs_bmap1+0x128a/0x12d0 fs/freevxfs/vxfs_bmap.c:257 Replace the BUG() with WARN_ON_ONCE() and return 0 -- the value vxfs_bmap_typed() already returns on failure (and from the DEV4 case above); vxfs_getblk() maps 0 to -EIO, so the ioctl fails cleanly.
CVE-2026-98914 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: cap ATOM command table nesting depth Cap nesting at 32 levels with execute_depth and return -ELOOP when exceeded.
CVE-2026-98919 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: harden adjust_idledly() against divide-by-zero and overflow adjust_idledly() has several corner-case issues flagged during review: 1. If xe_gt_clock_init() failed to recognise the crystal clock, gt->info.timestamp_base is 0, which makes idledly_units_ps also 0. The subsequent DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST(..., idledly_units_ps) is then a divide-by-zero and panics the kernel. 2. The tick-to-ns conversions are done in u32: idledly * idledly_units_ps, (maxcnt - 1) * 1000 Both overflow u32 before DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() sees them. 3. If IDLE_WAIT_TIME reads back as 0, maxcnt evaluates to 0 and the maxcnt - 1 clamp wraps to 0xFFFFFFFF in u32. 4. The register only stores whole ticks, so the clamped ns value has to be converted to ticks and back. DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST() can round that conversion up past maxcnt: maxcnt = 640 ns, one tick = 666664 ps clamp: maxcnt - 1 = 639 ns ns -> ticks: 639000 / 666664 = 0.958 -> rounds to 1 tick tick -> ns: 1 * 666664 / 1000 = 667 ns 667 ns is programmed into RING_IDLEDLY, but 667 >= maxcnt (640), so xe_gt_WARN_ON() fires again on every subsequent init. Return early if timestamp_base is 0 (the unknown-crystal path). Do the conversions in u64 via the *_ULL() helpers so they cannot wrap. Clamp with a floor (DIV_ROUND_DOWN_ULL) so the programmed delay stays strictly below maxcnt, and guard the maxcnt == 0 case with a zero delay while still writing RING_IDLEDLY so INHIBIT_SWITCH_UNTIL_PREEMPTED is cleared. v2: Drop the redundant warn on the timestamp_base == 0 path; xe_gt_clock_init() already warns on an unrecognised crystal clock. Keep the early return to avoid the divide-by-zero. - Vinay v3: Field-mask the RING_IDLEDLY write with REG_FIELD_PREP(IDLE_DELAY, ...) instead of writing the raw tick count, which could clobber INHIBIT_SWITCH_UNTIL_PREEMPTED and reserved bits. Split the inhibit-switch clear from the maxcnt clamp so a set inhibit bit no longer forces a needless delay overwrite when the delay itself is already valid. Use gt_to_xe(gt) instead of gt_to_xe(hwe->gt). (cherry picked from commit d864065ea25e9d12897c175de9176ce46677e176)
CVE-2026-98926 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Remove sink usage from DPMS [Why] stream->sink is optional and can be null, so should always be checked before dereference. Additionally, most of its usage in DPMS sequences is for stream->sink->link, which can be replaced with stream->link, as the two should always be the same. [How] * Replace stream->sink->link in DPMS on/off * Add assert to USB4 BW allocation where sink is required * Avoid inconsistencies in resource access, e.g. don't repeat stream->link after it was already saved to a local variable * Pull out effective VPG calculation to helper getter * Formatting fixes
CVE-2026-98928 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: Derive GUEST_HAS_SVE from the SVE feature bit at EL2 pkvm_init_features_from_host() takes KVM_ARCH_FLAG_GUEST_HAS_SVE and KVM_ARM_VCPU_SVE from the host separately, but pkvm_vcpu_init_sve() tests the bit while vcpu_has_sve() reads the flag. A host that sets the flag without the bit gets a vCPU with a NULL sve_state that the world switch loads the guest's SVE state from. Derive the flag from the bit, and drop the protected path's copy of the host's flag, which is dead code since protected VMs are not allowed SVE.
CVE-2026-98891 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: mac80211: validate deauth frame length before reason access ieee80211_rx_mgmt_deauth() reads the deauth reason code before checking that the fixed field is actually present in the received frame. Validate the deauth frame length first and only then read the reason code.
CVE-2026-98892 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_scmi: Validate BASE_ERROR_EVENT payload size BASE_ERROR_EVENT carries a variable number of message reports, with the count encoded in error_status. The notification parser used that count without checking whether the received payload contained all reported entries. Reject truncated payloads before copying the report array.
CVE-2026-98893 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_scmi: Validate SENSOR_UPDATE payload size SENSOR_UPDATE carries one or more sensor readings after the fixed notification header. The parser derives the expected reading count from the sensor description, but it did not verify that the received payload contains those entries before parsing them. Reject truncated update notifications before reading the variable array.
CVE-2026-98900 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen/gntalloc: validate grant count before allocation gntalloc_ioctl_alloc() allocates the grant-id array before checking whether the requested count fits within the global grant limit. Counts above that limit cannot succeed, so reject them before the user-controlled allocation reaches kcalloc(). Use a subtraction-based check while holding gref_mutex so adding the requested count cannot wrap. Also cast the count before advancing the per-file index so the page-size multiplication is performed in 64-bit arithmetic.
CVE-2026-98901 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix lease break and ack state handling Do not skip valid lease states containing WRITE_CACHING when breaking level-II/read leases for writes and truncates. Handle lease break acknowledgments according to the SMB2 rule that the acknowledged state must be a subset of the server's break target. Apply the acknowledged state directly and keep the break pending on failed ACKs.
CVE-2026-98903 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: imx: Add a channel shutdown field sashiko complained about possible teardown problem. The scenario CPU 0 CPU 1 imx_mu_isr() imx_mu_shutdown() imx_mu_xcr_rmw(priv, IMX_MU_RCR, 0, IMX_MU_xCR_RIEn(priv->dcfg->type, cp->idx)); imx_mu_specific_rx() imx_mu_xcr_rmw(priv, IMX_MU_RCR, IMX_MU_xCR_RIEn(priv->dcfg->type, 0), 0); free_irq() The RX event remains enabled because in this short window the RX event was disabled in ->shutdown() while the interrupt was active and then enabled again by the ISR while ->shutdown waited in free_irq(). This race requires timing and if happens can be problematic on shared handlers if the "removed" channel triggers an interrupt. In this case the irq-core will shutdown the interrupt with the "nobody cared" message. Introduce imx_mu_con_priv::shutdown to signal that the channel is shutting down. This flag is set with the lock held (by imx_mu_xcr_clr_shut()). The unmask side uses imx_mu_xcr_set_act() which only enables the event if the channel has not been shutdown and serialises on the same lock.
CVE-2026-98904 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: imx: Use devm_pm_runtime_enable() sashiko complained about early usage of the device while probe isn't completed. This can be mitigated by delaying the pm_runtime_enable() into the removal path instead doing it early. This ensures that in an error case the device is removed (and imx_mu_shutdown()) before pm_runtime_disable() so we don't have to do this manually. For the order to work, lets move devm_mbox_controller_register() until after the pm-runtime part. So the reverse order will be mbox-controller removal followed by disabling pm runtime. Use devm_pm_runtime_enable(), remove manual pm_runtime_disable() invocations and move the pm_runtime handling in probe before devm_mbox_controller_register().
CVE-2026-98905 1 Linux 2 Linux, Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdkfd: Properly acquire queue buffers in CRIU restore When kfd_queue_acquire_buffers() was split off from set_queue_properties_from_user(), set_queue_properties_from_criu() was missed. Thus, set_queue_properties_from_criu() is not filling out the buffer fields of queue_properties, which can come up when subsequent code expects them to be non-null. Add the proper call to kfd_queue_acquire_buffers(), and also use the right cast types in set_queue_properties_from_criu() (which were missed at the same time) (cherry picked from commit 88ed96abbbe27b70193544fbc1ee06448c274714)
CVE-2026-98744 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: codecs: max98363: fix uninitialized stream_config->type stream_config is not initialized before being passed to sdw_stream_add_slave(). The type field may contain garbage and is later copied to stream->type by sdw_config_stream(). Zero-initialize stream_config so type defaults to SDW_STREAM_PCM.
CVE-2026-98745 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64/fpsimd: signal: Forbid non-streaming SVE payload on SME-only systems When system_supports_sme() is true but system_supports_sve() is false, restoring a specifically crafted SVE signal context can result in the task erroneously having non-streaming SVE state. Subsequent attempts to manipulate the task's FPSIMD/SVE/SME state can result in a variety of problems, including fatal EL1 UNDEFs. In such configurations, the kernel always creates an SVE signal context when delivering a signal, and this can only be in one of two states: (1) SVE_SIG_FLAG_SM is set, and an SVE payload is present containing streaming mode SVE state. The recorded VL is the task's live streaming VL. (2) SVE_SIG_FLAG_SM is clear, and an SVE payload is not present. The FPSIMD context contains the non-streaming mode FPSIMD state. The recorded VL is 0. Currently restore_sve_fpsimd_context() correctly rejects cases where SVE_SIG_FLAG_SM is set and an SVE payload is not present, but fails to reject cases where SVE_SIG_FLAG_SM is clear and an SVE payload is present. Consequently, restore_sve_fpsimd_context() can place the task in a state where it has non-streaming SVE state even when this is not supported by HW. For example, this can cause a later EL1 UNDEF when the kernel attempts to restore the task's ZCR_EL1 value: | # ./sme-sigcontext-to-sve | Internal error: Oops - Undefined instruction: 0000000002000000 [#1] SMP | Modules linked in: | CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 131 Comm: sme-sigcontext- Not tainted 7.3.0-rc1 #1 PREEMPT | Hardware name: linux,dummy-virt (DT) | pstate: 61402009 (nZCv daif +PAN -UAO -TCO +DIT -SSBS BTYPE=--) | pc : fpsimd_restore_current_state+0x258/0x458 | lr : exit_to_user_mode_loop+0xb8/0x188 | sp : ffff80008056be40 | x29: ffff80008056be40 x28: fff00000c1670000 x27: 0000000000000000 | x26: 0000000000000000 x25: 0000000000000000 x24: 0000000000000000 | x23: ffff80008056bec0 x22: 0000000000000008 x21: 0000000000000040 | x20: 0000000000000081 x19: 0000000008800010 x18: 0000000000000000 | x17: 0000fffffd412570 x16: 0000000000001000 x15: 0000fffffd4123b0 | x14: 0000fffffd412780 x13: 0000fffffd412be8 x12: 0000000047435300 | x11: 0000fffffd412570 x10: 0000000000000000 x9 : 0000000045585401 | x8 : fff00000c18a6c44 x7 : 0000000000000000 x6 : 0000000000000002 | x5 : 0000000000000002 x4 : ffff800080568000 x3 : 0000000000000001 | x2 : 0000000008800010 x1 : fff00000c1670000 x0 : 0000000008800000 | Call trace: | fpsimd_restore_current_state+0x258/0x458 (P) | exit_to_user_mode_loop+0xb8/0x188 | el0_svc+0x1cc/0x1d0 | el0t_64_sync_handler+0xa0/0xe4 | el0t_64_sync+0x198/0x19c | Code: d5384101 f9400020 53175c03 36b80de0 (d5381202) | ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- | Kernel panic - not syncing: Oops - Undefined instruction: Fatal exception in interrupt | Kernel Offset: 0x291fb1000000 from 0xffff800080000000 | PHYS_OFFSET: 0x40000000 | CPU features: 0x0,00000000,0052802f,ffb88f43,3afcf73f | Memory Limit: none Rework restore_sve_fpsimd_context() to reject cases where SVE_SIG_FLAG_SM is clear and an SVE payload is not present. CVE-2026-98746 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-23 2.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: ma35d1: Fix clock reference leak in ma35d1serial_probe() of_clk_get() returns a clock with a reference that has to be released with clk_put(). ma35d1serial_probe() never does that, so the reference is leaked on the probe error paths and also when the port is removed. Release it on the error paths and in ma35d1serial_remove().
